Here is the first of our films from the Very Important Bear Project. These films were entirely the work of our P7 children. They wrote the storylines, wrote the scripts, created the props, created the backgrounds, worked on the mechanics of moving the bears, they filmed the movies using a video camera, they editted the movies using Windows Moviemaker, some groups adapted their voices using Audacity and then the groups presented their movies to their parents at our Premiere evening.
It was a great topic to teach and reflects the Curriculum for Excellence and learning in the 21st Century in many exciting ways.

This movie is by Chloe, Jayce, Kelly and Megan. The ending is rather abrupt as I had to remove the credits at the end in line with Internet usage policy.

My stay with Caitlin.

My stay at Caitlin’s house

As soon as me and Caitlin got to her house I was so excited. Caitlin asked if I was ok. I was ok , in fact I was great. Caitlin went into her room and got me a cute handbag and a cool pink and black hair band. Caitlin’s sister Kelsey was watching cbeebies and I thought I should watch it too.

While I was watching the telly, Caitlin went to tidy her room. When Caitlin had finished we went to her mum’s friend’s house to have a cup of coffee.

When we came back from her mum’s friend’s house Caitlin made me a comfy bed. Caitlin found me some p.j.s and a lovely dress she also got me a ribbon and tied it in a bow. Caitlin’s Gran and Granddad came over for dinner. After dinner Caitlin’s Gran and Grandad said that I could call them my Gran and Grandad. We all said goodbye and me and Caitlin and her mum went to her mum’s friends for another cup of coffee.

I made lots of friends and had a great time with Caitlin and her family. Thanks Caitlin.

My Stay with Thomas

My stay with Thomas

Thomas took me home on Wednesday16/2/2010. We went to the Manchester United game which they won 4-0. We got home at 3 in the morning.

The next day me and Thomas stayed home. We woke up at lunch time. We had ham and mustard on our sandwich. Then we played a game called dominoes I won. After that we watched a funny movie called bad boys 2.

I played football with Thomas and his dad. Then we had our dinner it was pasta, the best pasta I have tried. Before we went to bed we watched a movie called mall cop. I went to bed and I fell asleep so quickly. In the morning we went to school.

It was the best week of my life.

My stay with Jordan.

When I was at Jordan’s house I had lots of things to do. We played his PlayStation 3. We played a lot of games and I had fun trying to join in. On Saturday we watched SpongeBob then I went to play with Jordan’s sister’s teddies. Jordan then showed me his fish shadow and sonic.

On Sunday I went on the trampoline it made me a little sick. Before that I watched WWE experience. After a bounce on the trampoline we played the PlayStation3 again. Sadly I have to go back to school on Monday.

My Stay at Sam's

I had a good time at Sam’s. Me and Sam played on the ps3, I had a shot it was really fun. I was watching tv too. I did not like Sam’s dog Harris he really scared me. Sam’s gerbil was ok but I did not like his big long tail. I had a go on bookworm on Sam’s notebook. The dvd we watched was called Bolt the Superdog. My favourite character was rhino the super hamster. He was so cool and funny. Bolt really thinks he is a super dog and it turns out in the end he is really super. Then we watched a good programme called Eastenders.

My Trip to Jacob's...again

My stay at Jacobs...again

I got to visit Jacob again as it was his birthday and I just love a party! When we got home we watched T.V for a while and waited for Jacob’s friends to come over to have a PARTY!!! We played pool and I got a little better but still lost.

The next day we got up at 12:00pm and got a great breakfast. Jacobs mum was really nice and made mine crispy just how I like it. Then we had game of Call of Duty and I lost 150 – 0 so I didn’t get any better but I still had fun.

On Friday Jacob had a cool idea for a pannini but I couldn’t get one because I was going back to school but Jacob forgot me. I will be going back on Monday.

Dear Diary
When I got home Jacob introduced me to his mum. She was really nice. I was very excited because we were going bowling. I ended up not going because I got too attached to his other teddies . He had a good time and his cousins and friends came back to his house it was really fun because we were telling lots of jokes and playing the x box. I didn't win because I wasn't very good. I went to bed at quite late and watched Braveheart.

Saturday


On Saturday me, Jacob and his cousin Melissa went to MacDonald's . I ordered a chicken nugget meal but I couldn't eat it all so Jacob finished it for me. I got my picture taken on the bus. It was so exciting being on the second floor on the bus .

Sunday


On Sunday I had to get up early to go to Jacob's football match. Jacob's team won 12-2 and they won on a penalty game as well. It was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back to school.

My Trip to Niamh's

My stay at Niamh`s house

Monday

When I was coming home with Niamh I was very excited but a bit embarrassed because I didn`t have any clothes on. I felt alright after that because Niamh very kindly offered me clothes to wear .

After that Niamh had a football game and she took me along with her but first we went to MacDonald’s. Niamh and Caitlin both had chicken nuggets and chips Caitlin couldn’t stop giving me hugs. We went to Niamh’s gran’s and we were eating our MacDonald’s there. Niamh was holding me in her arms and her gran said what an adorable little teddy.

We said goodbye to Niamh’s gran and off we went to the football. In the car Niamh and Caitlin were petting me I felt full with love. Niamh’s mum was holding me while she went in to go and get ready for football. They were all finished and the game started it was a half hour a side.

All I know is there were five goals were scored and the score was 3-2 to Bonnyrigg. Niamh scored, Heady from her team scored and Charlie, also from her team scored. The game was finished I was so happy for Niamh and her team. On the way home Niamh almost fell asleep but she didn’t. We got home we were very tired me and Niamh went to brush our teeth and went to bed .

Tuesday

In the morning we woke up. We went downstairs to brush our teeth. Niamh got dressed. She had her breakfast and off she went to school when she got home from school she took me upstairs and we sat and watched Disney channel.

It was dinner time and I was getting hungry. We had mince and tatties it was lovely. When it was supper time we had hot chocolate with marshmallows and we had toast.

We went to bed Niamh put we beside her monkey but before that we were watching TV and then we went to sleep.

Overall it was a great stay over and I hope the next person as is nice as Niamh.

Me and Dale

I had a good time at Dale's. We did loads of things. The food was good when his dad cooked it but when his mum cooked it was bad. He doesn't do much. He always sits there playing games all day. I watched him play his favourite game and it looked pretty hard to play. I had a go on it and I lost pretty badly. Then we played another game. I wasn't much better at that one. I hope the next place I go has some good games.

His music was ok, not the best i've heard. His room was really messy. I nearly got lost in there. There's bags everywhere with toys for his cousins. His friend came over while was there. He wasn't much better. The two of them just sat there playing games. I couldn't play because there wasn't enough controllers. I had to clean myself because Dale was always getting up too late but his mum helped me.

Overall I would not recommend staying there since the food was only good when his dad was there and his room was really messy but it was a good stay.

Rules for taking me home.

When it is your turn to take me home please:

1. Be careful with me. Keep me away from other animals, don't lend me out to anyone else, don't get me dirty, if we go on a visit don't lose me, keep me dry, keep me away from your siblings!, I like to be warm, but don't put me too close to the fire, find me somewhere to sleep please, I hate washing machines... one of my friends had a nasty experience with one! be careful with me when food is around,

2. Get me to meet your Teddies. Take photos of me with them.

3. Make sure I'm back in school when I should be please.

4. Make me feel at home in your house.

5. Remember to write in my diary please, and then we'll put it on my website.

6. Take photos of me when I'm with you - you can e-mail digital photos to school and they can go on the website. REMEMBER IT MUST JUST BE A PICTURE OF ME ON THE WEBSITE - I don't want you getting famous!

I will put a calendar up in the class. If you are going somewhere exciting and interesting put the details down on the calendar.

To decide who will take me home for the rest of the time, I think we should follow the register list, beginning with Dale.

Hi P7a,

I had a look at your ideas webs last night for what we could learn whilst helping me become famous.

You've got some great ideas - well done all of you.

Ellen, I like your co-ordinates idea and the idea about a timeline, they're great.

Jacob, the song on Myna sounds cool - I'll look up that webby.

Niamh, I think your diary idea is really good, we could have a paper diary and a web diary.

Kelly, Trying to find out about where I came from is a good idea. We could use atlases to help us.

Thomas, I like the sound of an art session where you guys draw me. We could post the pictures on this site!

Dillon, your poem ideas sound really good. You're all good at poems.

Sam - dressing me up as a famous Scot is a grand idea, well done.

Connor, drawing me with shapes is a good idea, hope I'm not a square!

Dale, you could use kid pix to draw me, that sounds like fun as does your Buddy hunt. I'm not sure what you mean about stuffed bears though?

Caitlin, I like your mind map very colourful. I like the idea of a song - that might make me famous.

Hello again

Hello again P7a,

Well, I've been in your class for 4 days now and I've seen the work you do and I've been really pleased. I think I've come to a class who can help me out!

You've got some really good ICT skills and you're lucky enough to have quite a few laptops to work on.

You can all work together in groups well and you have good ideas for projects. (I wasn't too keen on your stories though, I was a bit scared!)

I like Connor's ideas and Niamh's ideas on the wallwisher page, and the anonymous entry. It would be nice to go home with some of you guys for the night and the weekend and meet your families.

Niamh - we can post pictures of me on this blog page I've created and then the world can see them!

Keep thinking of your ideas please 7A. I'm very impressed so far, well done!
